A fundamental problem in ecommerce…
…there it all began in 2014. The insight that if we want to go to the next level with the online channel, some fundamental changes should be applied. To me, the next step is creating a consumer-focused culture. Making online shopping as nice, efficient and personal as possible for a consumer. One of the two fundamental problems is how we handle data. The other problem is how we force consumers to find our product.
SphereMall has been built upon the insights I have gathered with my experience in retail, online shops and passion for data and models. Additionally, being a tech-nerd contributed to this as well. In 2014 I worked out the first concepts of sketches and designs together with Maarten. Subsequently, we have built the technology together with Maxim and Sergey. At the beginning of 2015 we finished the first proof of concepts of the technology. From this moment onwards everything went rapidly, and we are not even finished.
One big party
Above all, being an entrepreneur makes me happy. Especially in an environment where everything develops very quickly. The variety of my responsibilities at SphereMall is really big. From going deep down into technology to conversations with clients about consumers. From the embassy in Kiev, to opening a new office in the US and meanwhile hiring new employees. I often say I have the best job in the world. It always feels like a party to be occupied with SphereMall. Because I am doing incredible things with even more incredible people.
No mountain is too high
Besides my SphereMall hobby, I like to do other things from which exercising is the most important one. Cycling is my biggest passion. I love to be in the mountains on my mountain bike. And if I am not on my bike in the mountains I love to hike or ski there or run at home. A healthy mind in a healthy body; That is really relaxing.
When I like to relax during the evening after work, you can find me in Orbit, if you are a Guardian of course.
