June 1st 2017, the Dutch Interactive Awards will award prizes for the very best interactive work of the Netherlands. SphereMall is nominated in category 'Brand' with case 'De Fietser' on behalf of Accell-Group. Tomorrow, Friday May 12th, the jury presentation will take place. Why is SphereMall nominated with this case? What has personalized commerce do with that?

The case: personalized omni-channel bicycle platform

One of SphereMall's first customers is Accell-Group, manufacturer of bicycles such as Batavus, Sparta and Koga. Accell Group wanted one brand and one place where they brand transcending and independent of dealers showed the full range of all of its bicycle brands. One place where they personally know, communicate and advise their consumers. Of course, the ultimate goals is to establish and maintain customer relations so that consumers return to Accell Group for their next bicycle. Accell-Group launched the brand 'De Fietser' as a digital platform with an Experience Center in Ede in the fall of 2016. The entire digital platform has been realized by SphereMall, with architecture, user interface and personal preferences of the consumer embedded as a central starting point.

The first results

In the Bike Experience Center (more than 10,000m2), beacons, indoorwayfinding and an highly personalized app help consumers directly to the test bikes that best suit their preferences. This omni-channel approach, AI and technology enhance consumer self-reliance, shorten the purchasing process and make it much more convenient and personal! This creates true personalized commerce that has not been shown before. It’s like the bike comes towards you.

Tomorrow, Christian van Someren presents together with Manon van Gasteren, e-commerce Accell-Group, the nominated case to the jury. Christian says, "This nomination feels like a reward: we work hard, we grow fast and it’s noticed."

Who are we?

SphereMall is a Dutch technology company founded in 2014 by Christian van Someren and three employees of his previous company, Truus.nl. SphereMall makes software for the most personalized (online) shopping experience. "We call this personalized commerce. Our self-developed intelligence and technology really enables personalisation of retail stores, focusing on consumers, thus making shopping as personal, easy and efficient as possible for consumers worldwide.", explains Christian van Someren. In December 2016, SphereMall raised investment funding from VOC Capital Partners. In March 2017, SphereMall signed up her first customer in the United States. SphereMall currently consists of more than 30 people across locations in the Netherlands, Ukraine and the United States. Other SphereMall customers are for example Ahrend, Kramp and Jumbo Supermarkets.
